Our Philosophy:
Birth is one of the most
joyous moments of a womans life. We recognize having a baby as an
important life experience. Understanding the process of birth and
the emotional needs of a laboring woman are crucial to providing
labor support. We not only use these skills in our private doula
business, we are also privileged enough to be able to teach these
techniques to coaches in our childbirth classes and prospective
doulas during our doula trainings.
Kimberly Wright, Ph.D., AAHCC, CD (DONA)
Kim
earned a doctoral degree in Psychology from the University of
Cincinnati. In the midst of graduate school, Kim became pregnant
with her first child and fell in love with the whole birth process.
Wanting to primarily be a stay-at-home mom, she felt that teaching
childbirth education was the perfect outlet for her. Kim and her
family moved back to Cleveland in 1992 just in time to doula Paige
through her first pregnancy and birth.
While pregnant with her
second child, Kim became a certified Bradley Childbirth Educator in
1994 and currently teaches for the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. She
has been a doula since 1991, providing labor support through Gentle
Beginnings Labor Support Services, hospital programs, and Dr. John
Kennells doula research study. She received her doula certification
from Doulas of North America (DONA) in 1996 and her doula trainer
certification in 2000.
Kim has been married to
Andrew since 1986 and is the mother of two children. In addition to
being a birth junkie, Kim also enjoys a trip to Ballys with
Starbucks on the way home!!
Paige Palladino, AAHCC, CD (DONA)
Paige earned her degree
in accounting from John Carroll University. After working in public
accounting for three years, she became pregnant with her first
child. Deciding that she wanted to stay home and raise her children,
Paige was persuaded by Kim to consider becoming a childbirth
educator. Kim attended Paiges first birth and was such a valuable
part of the process that she convinced Paige to investigate the
birth scene.
Paige took the Bradley
teacher training with Kim and became a certified Bradley Childbirth
Educator in 1994 and currently teaches for the Cleveland Clinic
Foundation. She has been a doula since 1993 (her first birth was
Kims second child), providing labor support through Gentle
Beginnings Labor Support Services and hospital programs. She has
served as the treasurer and membership chairperson for the Doula
Network of Northeast Ohio. She received her doula certification from
Doulas of North America (DONA) in 1996 and her doula trainer
certification in 2000.
Paige has been married
to Ken (who is coincidently Kims brother!) since 1986 and is the
mother of two children. Paiges favorite days include a good book!! |
